Anderson vII pg528-529 - letter #565

Dear Z[meskall]!

You will have thought it very disobliging of me yesterday not to wait until you were dressed.  But I had to go to a house where I was expected; and I was still with you when it was already a quarter of an hour later than I was expected to arrive there.  From your place to that house it was at least a quarter of an hour’s walk, so that I was being awaited for whole half hour.  Hence contrary to my desire to stay with you a little longer I had to rush off in a great hurry so as not to arrive there even later.

                                                                              Yours
                                                                                     L. v. Beethoven
